Working
with stories

Dramaturg, author, director, editor, teacher — I’m here. In Italian, English, and French, depending on what you need. Over the years, I’ve conceived, developed, and overseen dozens of audiovisual projects, particularly for Swiss Radio and Television. Some of my work has received national and international recognition.

Stories

There’s only one plot:
nothing is as it seems

Selected projects:

An aphorism by the American crime writer Jim Thompson, recently quoted in The Lowdown, a TV series by director and producer Sterlin Harjo (with whom I would love to work one day, alongside his creative partner Taika Waititi). Both the quote and the series are magnificent…

As for me, I can tell you that I love good stories (not sugar-coated ones). I dislike melodrama and cheap tricks. The styles and genres I gravitate toward most are autofiction, emotional investigations, portraiture, and combinatory art. When I work, I always think about the audience — those who have chosen to listen, read, or watch me — hoping to give them meaningful experiences.

…And your story, what’s it like?
I can help you identify and develop structure, subjects, themes, and dialogue. But also help you find the right microphone posture and how to address your audience, whether live or in post-production.
My target audience is:

Nature

Not a place to
visit but home

Selected projects:

As Gary Snyder wrote in the ’60s: “As a poet I cultivate the most archaic values there are: the fertility of the earth, the magic of animals, the power of vision in solitude, love and the ecstasy of dance, the common work of the tribe. I always try to keep in mind both history and wild nature, in contrast to the ignorance and imbalance of our times.”

I love being outdoors and discovering places. But telling their story isn’t just a matter of knowing the language or the local facts: it’s also about narrative techniques and understanding your audience. We can know everything about the geology, flora, and fauna, but that doesn’t automatically mean we know how to present or structure the story — which can sometimes be told through silence, when needed.

As a hiker and guide, my goal is to help people experience emotions — to feel the place. And yours?
My target audience is:

Imagination

Illustrazione Immaginazione

A point on the horizon where
dreams meet desires

Selected projects:
Artistic gift, vital necessity, antidote to boredom — imagination can be defined in many ways. For me, it’s a tool of the trade, but also “that indefinite point on the horizon where desires meet dreams” (freely adapted from The True Story of the Hood Gang by Wu Ming 4). No matter how we define it, imagination is precious because it helps us see beyond what we already know. But how do we work with it? In Nature, in the dark, for example. With creative writing exercises — and it works! We can do all this and much more. Lately, I’ve started exploring Tarot, and I find it an incredibly useful tool. Not to divine the future, but to spark the creation of stories (about oneself), and thereby discover, unlock, and develop imagination. Images / Imaginary / Imagination — isn’t that all interconnected and fertile within the Tarot?
What is the horizon of your desires?
We can try to reach it.
